Who wants to hunt witches?

The United States is 2% safer against the dangerous scourge known as Salvia Divinorum today. In a courageous move, the state of Ohio has said "Enough!" to the zero deaths caused per year and the zero cases of salvia addiction plaguing this great land. Salvia is now banned in 12 states and many others are considering it, including Minnesota.

It's so ridiculous that it's hard to know where to start. Fox News led the charge with articles calling salvia the "next marijuana." Call me crazy but I think marijuana will continue to be the next marijuana. Plus salvia is wildly anti-addictive. A lot of the media attention is because of a 17 year old kid from Delaware named Brett Chidester. Bummer that he killed himself but teenagers do that from time to time. Naturally his dumbfuck parents went apeshit and blamed it partly on salvia. His death certificate was even altered to include salvia among the contributing factors, which makes no sense because he didn't have salvia in his system at the time. Might as well blame everything he ate or drank that month.

Politicians talk about things like protecting our kids from drug pushers. When has anybody ever tried to push salvia? My guess is never. How many people does alcohol kill a year? Tens of thousands. But no, salvia is the real problem. There is a bill in the Minnesota house to put salvia on the list of schedule 1 drugs. Hopefully it won't pass... again.

It's not so much that banning salvia is such a great loss. It's just ridiculous that things are being banned for NO REASON whatsoever. Butter is more dangerous than salvia. Millions of legal things are more dangerous than salvia. This is no legitimate reason to take another freedom from us. Stupid journalists looking for a sensationalist story blow things way out of proportion for their own benefit. Or just blatantly make shit up. Then politicians say "well I won't miss it, why not jump on the bandwagon and ban it" and poof. It's funny that we still call the U.S. the land of the free considering the rate that we're losing rights for absolutely no reason.

Who would want to smoke salvia as a casual drug (the next marijuana? what...)? I'm not meaning smoke it all the time, I mean "Oh man I need to unwind a bit tonight I'm gonna smoke some salvia and chill out hum-de-dumm". I can't see it being addictive either...

The "salvia kills kids" thing is just as stupid as all the parents and media who call violent video games the ROOT cause of so many teen/young adult suicides and homicides. At least that realm is getting slowly better, I highly doubt the "drugs" front will :/

The worst thing that Salvia produces is retarded Youtube videos where people sit around and laugh as their friends take it, completely freaking them out and ruining it...they're TRYING to fuck with them, and it's stupid.

And on that note..sorry for screwing up yours that one time in Madison, but I wasn't doing it intentionally at least! ;P

The only thing that screwed it up for me was that girl talking on her phone. I swear at that moment her voice was more annoying that anything I've ever heard.

I completely agree with everything you said. I must admit that, obviously, while under the effects of salvia, things can go bad/dangerous, but that can pretty much happen with alcohol/marijuana/other drugs. And while it's not addictive, I still remember that one guy Soren knew in Madison, after he took it he said it was way more fucked up than acid/coke/shrooms he had done. And so, it does have the potential for people hearing that to go "well, if salvia is more extreme, then maybe those other drugs aren't so bad, I'll try those." So, it does have potential to do some harm the more mainstream it gets. The problem, actually, with trying to ban it is it gives more exposure to the drug, meaning more people will probably use it which is the opposite of the banning's intent.

ANYWAYS, yeah, for a government based on freedom, we sure as hell are having those freedoms taken away at a very quick pace over the last 9 years. What sucks is I consider myself a libertarian--liberties and capitalism. And America is going the complete opposite way--government control and socialism.

Salvia divinorum

I've done it many times 40-60 or so (except the fresh leaves, which is the most preferred way, so I'm looking forward to a plant), smoked 1X,13X, 17X, 20X, 21X, 25X, & 50X and chewed the dried leaves and taken the tincture.
Salvia divinorum is a great plant and a very powerful medicine. Many people abuse it, trying to get high from it. There's no comparison to it except perhaps in term of scale and it would be like comparing the size of molehills to mountains to asteroids, planets, and stars. It is extremely safe compared to alcohol and nicotine. People really need to be educated on the plant and proper, respectful use. Read up on it, this is where the best User's Guide to Salvia divinorum can be found http://www.sagewisdom.org/usersguide.html and for the FAQs

You have the right to work with nature to heal body and mind, government, organized religion, and big business (especially the drug companies), would deny you that right only out of ignorance greed and resentment/prejudice. Re: Salvia divinorum

What does Salvia medicate against???

I can't possibly see how it could have any positive effects on the body...

Based off of how it made me feel...

Re: Salvia divinorum

There has been promising research that salvia could be used to treat addiction and depression.

Salvia divinorum

A Quickie from Wiki Cautionary notes

Dale Pendell http://www.sagewisdom.org/pharmakopoeia.html expresses some concerns about the use of highly concentrated forms of salvia. In its natural form salvia is more balanced and benevolent, and quite strong enough, he argues. High strength extracts on the other hand can show “a more precipitous, and more terrifying, face” and many who try it this way may never wish to repeat the experience.[44]

The “Salvia divinorum User’s Guide” http://www.sagewisdom.org/usersguide.html hosted on Daniel Siebert’s website http://www.sagewisdom.org/ recommends having a sitter present if you are new to salvia, are experimenting with a stronger form, or are using a more effective method of ingestion than you have before.

“ An experienced salvia user who is chewing a quid, may often choose to do it alone, and may be quite safe in doing so. But having a pleasant, sensible, sober sitter is an absolute must if you are trying vaporization, smoking high doses of extract-enhanced leaves, or using pure salvinorin.”

Salvia divinorum User’s Guide

The guide says that while the effects of salvia are generally quite different from those of alcohol, like alcohol, it impairs coordination. It also emphasizes that salvia is not a party drug.

“ Salvia is not ‘fun’ in the way that alcohol or cannabis can be. If you try to party with salvia you probably will not have a good experience. Salvia is a consciousness-changing herb that can be used in a vision quest, or in a healing ritual. In the right setting, salvia makes it possible to see visions. It is an herb with a long tradition of sacred use. It is useful for deep meditation. It is best taken in a quiet, nearly dark room; either alone, or with one or two good friends present.”

Salvia divinorum User’s Guide

I'll repeat, :in a quiet nearly dark room (as if you were meditating, and please do, meditate)

Pretty funny.

I thought salvia was so shitty that my experiences with it convinced me that it was a drug secretly CREATED by the government and made available to SCARE kids and other people AWAY from trying other drugs in the future.

I would never smoke that shit again!

Worst drug experience of my life!

I think that's a really common reaction. Most people intensely dislike it. That's why it will never be anything like weed.

You didn't look too pleased with it. I imagine the hallucinatory aspect would've been fine if I wasn't desperately trying to get all the pepper and sand out of my throat.. veins.. brain.

Oh and I'd say blaming wolf-food offing themselves because of Salvia is a step forward.. at least it's CLOSER to something you could actually blame something like taking your life on. Remember when these tards were blaming these things on Marilyn Manson! Now THOSE parents were on something
